WHY JOIN?

Joining Alberta Music connects you with local music communities, creators, and businesses, providing a wealth of career opportunities. These include promotional support, access to valuable resources, professional development, one-on-one consultations, and showcasing, among other benefits.

Membership levels & rates

    Student $15/year

    Individuals who are currently enrolled in a post-secondary program, or are under the age of 18.

    Individual $45/year

    An individual working within the Alberta music industry at any stage of their career. Or, an individual who has knowledge, ability, or skill to contribute to and advance the mandate of Alberta Music, but is not directly involved in working in the Alberta music industry.

    Band $100/year

    A group of three or more who perform together in a group, at any stage of their career. (A cost effective method for three or more individuals to join).

  • Fan $20/year

    An individual who has a passion for Alberta Music, but is not directly involved in the music industry.

    Company/Corporate $200/year

    A corporation, organization, business or agency that supports the vision and mandate of Alberta Music and is interested in furthering the objectives of Alberta Music and its members. (A cost effective method for three or more individuals to join).

    Sustaining $500/year

    Minimum Contribution companies or individuals that wish to acknowledge the importance of the music industry by contributing a minimum of $500 to the Association for programs.

WHAT COMES WITH A MEMBERSHIP?

PROFESSIONAL DEVELOPMENT & CAREER CONSULTATIONS

Our professional development program (Backstage Pass) covers all aspects of the music business, from management and marketing to touring and taxes. We offer sessions with successful local and international artists and industry professionals. We also provide one-on-one consultations with our experienced and knowledgeable staff and industry experts.

We support you with funding applications, assist with marketing strategies and offer guidance on career development.

SHOWCASE OPPORTUNITIES

Members are eligible for inclusion in Alberta Music's showcase & export program, including industry showcases and other live performance opportunities. 

MONTHLY ENEWS

Keep up to date on local, national and international opportunities such as grant deadlines, music conferences, industry events, showcasing opportunities, new member benefits, careers & job opportunities, and so much more. Members can also submit release dates, shows and updates to be included in the enews. 

ONLINE MUSIC DIRECTORY PROFILE

Every Alberta Music members gets a profile page on our website. You can use this profile page to promote your music business. 

ALBERTA MUSIC OFFICE

Our Edmonton (north) office has a small but comprehensive library of books. Need a desk, computer, printer or meeting spacer? Come on by! Contact us at info@albertamusic.org to inquire about booking some space!


MEMBER DISCOUNT PROGRAM

With regular additions, you now have access to more discounts & special offers than ever before! 

ALBERTA MUSIC VOTING RIGHTS

Members are invited to join us at our Annual General Meeting every June and have a vote!  Members are also able to run for the board of directors. 

* Voting rights are reserved for Individual, Band & Company Members

WESTERN CANADIAN MUSIC ALLIANCE

All members gain automatic membership with the Western Canadian Music Alliance which includes a discount on submissions for the BreakOut West Festival and the Western Canadian Music Awards, and a vote for the awards

PLAYLISTS

We frequently put together playlists on Spotify of Alberta Music members, for streaming use at our events. Members can have their songs added, email info@albertamusic.org with a Spotify link for your song.

  3. IN PERSON:  Attending a workshop but not yet a Member? Sign up at the workshop!

PAYMENT: We accept cash, cheque (payable to Alberta Music), Visa, Master Card.

The workshops and networking mixers offered by Alberta Music have been very beneficial to my career over the years, not only by providing me with the opportunity to learn from some of the industry's best but also helping me spawn relationships with important players across the country.
