Soundcheck Guidelines:

To ensure a productive and beneficial experience for all participants, the following guidelines apply

• Eligibility: Open to artists, managers, industry professionals, and music entrepreneurs at any stage of their career who are seeking strategic guidance and industry insights. Members and non-members are eligible to participate.
• Meeting Coordination: Requests for consultations will be reviewed and scheduled by Alberta Music’s program team.
• Booking Process: Consultations are scheduled based on mentor availability, and participants must submit a request outlining their goals and areas of focus. Bookings are confirmed on a first-come, first-served basis. (Returning participants may request a follow-up meeting but priority will be given to new participants.)
• Preparation: Mentors will receive a copy of the participants goals relevant to their topic to maximize the value of the consultation.
• Session Length & Format: Each consultation will be a maximum of one hour. Follow-up sessions may be available based on mentor discretion. Meetings will be conducted via phone or online video to accommodate participants from various locations.
• Confidentiality: All discussions are confidential.

Participants are expected to:

• Review mentor bios to select the best match for your needs.
• Come with an open mind and clear goals and prepare key questions to guide your discussion.
• Be on time; missed sessions will not be automatically rescheduled.
• Keep interactions professional—mentors are here to advise, not to pitch business deals.
• Respect mentor boundaries; confidential information will not be shared.
• Engage in a professional and respectful manner during sessions, they are to follow Alberta Music’s Community Guidelines; inappropriate behavior will result in removal from the program. .

Inform Alberta Music at least 24 hours in advance if you are unable to attend your scheduled meeting. You can do so by emailing info@albertamusic.org or leaving a voicemail at 780-428-3372.
