BIO/DESCRIPTION
Scott Morin is an artist, businessman and philanthropic leader in the Canadian music scene who has built a career in the arts community based on a deep love for spreading the gospel of jazz and soulful music. He has his Diploma in Commercial Music from MRU, Degree in Jazz Studies from Capilano University, and half of his Masters in Music Business from NYU. In addition to producing 3 Juno Award winning albums and a Juno nominated DVD for jazz legend Oscar Peterson, Scott ran the Canadian division of the largest jazz label in the world, Verve Records, for nearly 10 years, and spearheaded the worldwide launch of the Diana Krall classic ’The Look of Love’, which has gone on to win 7 Juno Awards, and sell almost 1 Million copies in Canada alone. Scott has been a board and committee member for the Coalition for Music Education/Music Mile, JAZZYYC, CARAS/Juno Awards, Regent Park School of Music and Music Mile. He is currently the marketing and A&R manager for Vancouver based jazz label Cellar Music Group, and a very busy grant writer for the label and numerous Calgary-based and Canadian artists. www.cellarlive.com
