Jory Kinjo / Kinjo & Young

BIO/DESCRIPTION

Jory Kinjo grew up in Calgary, AB. playing old-school soul music with long-standing soul band, Mocking Shadows. The Shadows warmed the stage for three Canadian tours with B.B. King and billed with artists such as ZZ Top and Buddy Guy.
In 2007, Kinjo toured Europe playing bass for Montreal’s third-wave ska kings, the Planet Smashers. This experience ignited a love for ska & reggae and inspired a new direction in his music. Kinjo formed “Jory Kinjo & the Relays” and has toured with such acts as Fishbone, the English Beat, The Slackers, the Aggrolites, Ziggy Marley and the Wailers
Kinjo has performed all over the world with a wide array of artists from UB40 to South African jazz legend Hugh Masekela.
