Jeff Kynoch

Jeff Kynoch is a producer and recording/mixing engineer based in Calgary, Alberta. In his pursuit to learn more about the art and science of sound, he studied Music and Audio Recording at Grant MacEwan University. After graduating with honors, his dedication and enthusiasm earned him the Canadian Academy of Recording Arts Society’s Academic Scholarship for highest academic achievement. Jeff then worked as a staff engineer and producer at Sound Extractor Studios in Edmonton for several years before working as a recording engineer at the prestigious Banff Centre for Arts and Creativity. Currently, he works as a recording engineer at the National Music Centre in Calgary and as an in-demand freelance engineer and producer working out of his own studio, Acme Recorders.

Jeff’s diverse skill set has allowed him the opportunity to work on a wide variety of projects with artists and organizations from around the world. Many of these projects have had notable success on radio charts, have been used in film, and received accolades from both written and online press, in addition to being nominated for both Juno and Polaris Music Prize awards.

Equally at home in complex studio environments, improvised spaces, concert venues, and mobile recording trucks, Jeff is an experienced problem solver and a calm presence in the studio. When he isn’t working on other people’s projects, you will find him tinkering with electronics, modifying audio equipment, gardening, and listening to music.
