Devin Cooper

BIO/DESCRIPTION

Southern-Rock influenced country may seem contradictory in the Great White North, but that’s where Devin Cooper hangs his wide-brimmed hat. Kicking off 2024, Cooper secured five Country Music Alberta Nominations, and released his country-rock love anthem “She’s My Religion” and “Wanted Man” which became the #1 and #2 played songs on Sirius XM’s Top of Country. Cooper’s highly anticipated 22 song double album, “Good Things: Deluxe Edition” is set for release on September 6th, 2024.

In 2023, Cooper was the most-nominated solo artist at the Country Music Alberta Awards, where he was named “Horizon Male Artist of The Year” and landed seven nominations, including “Album of The Year” and “Fans’ Choice”. Following this, Cooper received his first CCMA Nomination for “Creative Team of The Year” for his debut EP “Good Things”.

“Good Things”, the lead single off the EP, was the #1 most played song the week of its release on CBC Sirius XM Country. Shortly after the release of his debut EP “Good Things” Cooper was named a semi-finalist in Sirius XM’s Top of The Country program in partnership with the CCMAs, where Cooper and his band recorded his highest charting and streaming song to date, “Underdog”, at the Warehouse in Vancouver, BC. “Underdog” is an anthem for everyone who has been knocked down and keeps getting back up, no matter what.

Cooper’s signature sound is identifiable by his thoughtful songwriting and gritty rock ‘n roll vocals. Featuring down-home banjo and anthemic 1980s drum tones, Cooper’s debut EP blurs the line between country and rock ‘n roll and is a taste of what’s to come: Cooper does country music his way and doesn’t apologize for it.
