Carly Klassen - Executive Director
Carly Klassen is the Executive Director of Alberta Music. She moves into the position after completing seven years at Alberta Music with various responsibilities, the latest as manager of programs and operations. Prior to her tenure at Alberta Music, Carly worked for Stony Plain Records, Spirit River Distribution and for concert promoters such as Brent Oliver Presents and JCL Productions. Carly Klassen has spent her professional life as a tireless advocate for musicians and artists in Alberta.
Jessica Marsh - Programs Coordinator
She may be relatively young in years, but Jessica is a well-acquainted individual in the arts community who has worked independently in various industry roles. She started her professional career with the Salmon Arm Roots & Blues Festival in 2009, and The Edmonton Folk Music Festival the following year. In 2011, she began working for Alberta Music, focusing on a number of projects within the association.
Jessica has established herself as an active member of the music industry in Alberta in many aspects. As a recent graduate of MacEwan's Music Program and Arts & Cultural Management Program, she recognizes the needs that musicians around her face. Jessica provides a dynamic element through her commitment to her work, her support for other musicians, and her eagerness to dive in and lend a hand wherever needed – on or off the stage.
Mike James - Communications & Admin. Coordinator
Mike is an enthusiastic, outgoing music-lover who enjoys the active nature of working around music and entertainment. In 2014 he completed the one-year intensive Entertainment Business Management diploma at Vancouver Film School and prior, the Arts and Cultural Management diploma program at MacEwan University. Both courses have shaped Mike into an arts and entertainment professional eager to contribute to the community.
In his spare time he can be found working on various community projects and digital marketing endeavors.
