One-on-one or small group consultations on college radio mailouts, preparing your one-sheet, how to nail a recorded live session at the station, preparing for and giving a good interview, and building/reviewing content (bios, press releases, promo shots, reviews).

– How to contact a DJ that spins your genre (and hopefully your album)
– How to nail a recorded live session at the station
– How to prepare and properly give a good interview
– Building/reviewing content (bios, press releases, promo shots, reviews)

MEET YOUR MENTORS:
Rhea March (YEG)
Rhea March has been active in the music scene for over 30 years as a performer, producer, radio host, performance coach and artist development specialist. Rhea’s commitment to nurturing talent is the inspiration behind her weekly campus radio show aptly named, ‘It Takes a Village’ on CJSR 88.5 FM. Starting in 2013, the one-hour weekly series demonstrates how it truly does take a village to raise a songwriter and features music, live performances and stories about the biz. Rhea has also produced and hosted two 8 week features for CKUA Radio Network.
Marta Ligocki (YYC)
Since returning from university in Victoria, Marta became a very active member of Calgary’s cultural community. She has been involved with CJSW 90.9 FM from 2013 as the host of MAPL Syrup, a program focusing on Canadian music with an emphasis on the local music scene. She currently serves as the Program Director at CJSW 90.9 FM, and Secretary for Femme Wave Arts Society and the Beltline Neighbourhoods Association.
