The Dearhearts
BIO/DESCRIPTION
“Are you sisters?”
Alixandra Cowman, Lauren de Graaf, and Lauren Hamm have heard that question more times than they can count. The three women from the tiny hamlet of Rosebud, Alberta are not related toe each other at all, but once you hear them singing in 3-part harmony for the first time, you may be convinced otherwise. For the last 3 years, they have been touring across North America as the bluegrass-infused folk band known as “The Dearhearts”
Their sound is a unique blend of styles and is inspired by legends like The Carter Family and The Andrews Sisters, and current artists like Sarah Jane Scouten, The Good Lovelies, and Nickel Creek. They have been called “the next generation of the Wailin’ Jennys”. They have performed at events and festivals across the North America (Canadian Music Week, The Extreme Tour, 15 Minutes of Fame Music Festival), and became the Southern Alberta Regional Champions of the CBC Searchlight competition in 2015. Their highly anticipated second album, “Enough To Go Around”, will be released in the spring of 2018.
These three women will entertain you with their lively stories, tug at your heartstrings with their soaring harmonies, and tickle your funny bones with their quick wit. The Dearhearts are sweet, sassy, and simply delightful.
