Tanjeryne

BIO/DESCRIPTION

Tanjeryne is a singer-songwriter and a rising force in Alberta’s vibrant music scene. Inspired by vocalists and songwriters such as Norah Jones, Lana Del Rey, and Jewel, her evocative voice and raw storytelling have drawn comparisons to Alanis Morissette. Known for her audacious lyrics and genre-defying sound, Tanjeryne crafts songs that resonate with modern audiences.

Performing since 2017, Tanjeryne is a mainstay in Edmonton’s music community, regularly gracing stages at venues across the city. Her live presence has also taken her on five tours through Alberta and British Columbia, with performances at acclaimed festivals like 39 Days of July, Wapiti Music Festival, and Fireside Festival.

Her debut studio album, Stardust & Lost Things (July 2024), is a coming-of-age tapestry of nostalgia, hope, and resilience. From the aching vulnerability of “This Song (It’s Over)” to the infectious energy of “Flipside,” the record explores a young woman’s journey through a fast-paced, technologically driven world—undaunted yet unimpressed.

Currently, Tanjeryne is working on her sophomore studio album, Leather & Denim, recorded at Riverdale Recorders in Edmonton, AB. The project delves into themes of working-class pride, the enduring strength of women and finding identity in a world shaped by capitalism’s colonial legacy. Despite its weighty themes, the album brims with hope and optimism for a brighter future.

A community leader and advocate for local artists, Tanjeryne has hosted open mics across Edmonton and organized showcases celebrating female talent in the city. Her dedication to storytelling, artistry, and connection continues to inspire her growing fanbase.
