BIO/DESCRIPTION

Hi my name is Tanatswa, I’m 22 based out in Calgary/Edmonton. Making sadder music is my strong suit but that does not mean I can’t make something fun because that’s what music is about. My upbringing was a middle class family just trying to make in a first world country as my parents were first gen immigrants, so i struggle with identity and being role model to my sisters as we became a broken home at the age 16. Navigating all that with my own love interests growing up, my view point was skewed when my parents divorced but in all these moments made me the artist i am today, having music as an outlet. My mother was very gifted in singing and taught me harmonies just by singing with me and carry that into my music. I make really really honest music with vocals like Frank ocean and Daniel Caesar that is similar to their writing styles. I have other influence like Steve lacy, Brent Faiyaz, Leon Thomas and more.
