Sugar Richards
BIO/DESCRIPTION
Sugar is a passionate, edgy, alternative singer songwriter. She picked up her moms guitar and started songwriting at age 15. Music helped her as she went through many of life’s trials. About 7 years ago she made some of her songwriting public. She submitted one of her original tunes to a competition and won which allowed her to professionally record a song. She went on to record her first EP at OCL Studios in Langdon. A producer from Nashville got ahold of a copy at a festival where she was performing and contacted her to come record an album there. She recorded 10 songs last spring in Nashville at the Rascal Flatts studio, and is now in the process of releasing them. Sugar’s major influences are passionate, unique songwriters like Alanis Morissette, Tragically Hip, and Jack Johnson to name a few. Sugar sings so passionately because she feels that music brings people closer together and helps others that relate to her own story and songs.
