BIO/DESCRIPTION

Rebecca Lappa is an Edmonton singer-songwriter, who delivers alternative music with folk undertones thru a pop vein. Just signed to Tonic Records, Lappa released her Indie-Pop album “Tales of a Taurus”, funded by a second FACTOR Juried Sound Recording grant, in May 2023. Her story based compositions, emotive delivery, and image filled lyrics captured Lappa three 2019 Edmonton Music Awards nominations, winning Singer Songwriter Recording of the Year. She’s a CFMA winner, who has won 1st place 3 times in Calgary’s Ship and Anchor Songwriting contest and the Lieutenant Governor of Alberta’s Spirit of Vimy contest. She’s toured Canada, performing at Edmonton Folk Music Festival, Calgary Folkfest, Canmore Folkfest and Ottawa Blues Festival. She’s opened for The Crash Test Dummies, Jenn Grant, Digging Roots, Basia Bulat, Reignwolf, and Leeroy Stagger. Lappa is excited in 2023 to showcased at Canada Music Week in Toronto and The Great Escape in the UK. With powerful vocals and honest stories, Lappa is an emerging Canadian talent who is clearly “one to watch”.
