Premanition
BIO/DESCRIPTION
Premanition, a Bangladeshi-Canadian singer, producer, author, director, voice over actor, and electrical engineer, is an imaginative and world building artist.
She creates atmospheres with her art and is a craftsperson at heart; exploring themes in everyday life as well as profound questions about finding meaning in our existence. She came into the scene with her debut album, Head Games – a five song acoustic EP in 2019 where she completed a rotation of local acoustic shows. In 2020, she released her first self-produced electropop single, Sleep Talking, where she also dipped her toes into directing and videography for her music videos.
She was originally trained in classical music and opera, then one day decided to pick up a guitar and write sad and angsty songs. This sent her on a journey to reveal the deepest emotions from her experiences and all that she observed and learned over the years.
In 2022 with her more recent singles, Heaven, Worthy, and Mars, she shifted into producing dark electropop, drawing a more fantastical concept in her sonic world. Currently, she is working on her most ambitious project yet, a full length electropop album with a corresponding novel about love, grief, and finding the light within. This mixed media story will unfold in a series of music videos, songs, poems and photographs over 2023. Premanition is a storyteller by nature and this project is the current convergence of her creativity.
