Patrice Jégou

Hailing from Red Deer, Alberta, Patrice Jégou built a successful career as a professional ice skater before switching her focus to singing. She earned a doctorate in classical voice at Rutgers University in New Jersey, but then sought and found greater expressive opportunities in jazz performance. With help from her husband and creative partner Yinka Oyelese, Jégou has recorded two jazz albums, Speak Low (2014) and If It Ain’t Love (2019), each showcasing a rare artistry and even greater promise for years to come. Patrice is the founder of independent record label Prairie Star Records LLC, and resides in New Jersey.
