My most recent album, I’m A Shoe is a compilation of original songs representing a cross-section of my diverse musical, cultural and geographic influences. From my old-timey musical roots on the Prairies, my years playing rock, blues and folk in Calgary during the King Eddy era, and having lived, recorded and performed in Vienna, Austria, I have been so fortunate to have been exposed to myriad musical styles.
The album was recorded in Bragg Creek in 2018 at Rob Bartlett’s studio on an analogue Neve recording console, and mixed and mastered in Vancouver by Mario Vaira and Brock McFarlane, respectively. I’ve been fortunate to work with many stellar local players on this album. Thankyou to Jamie Newsom (bass), Keith Floen (keyboards), Andrzej Ryszka (drums), Tim Jeffery (dobro), Denis Dufresne (fiddle), Doug Zacharias (trumpet/clarinet) and Leanne Copthorne (background vocals). Most special to me is the guitar work of the late Mike Vaira on High Heel Fever. Special thanks to Bragg Creek photographer Tom Walker for photos and Vienna-based artist Bernhard Cociancig for graphic/cover design.
