Matt Beatty
BIO/DESCRIPTION
Matt Beatty is a strange utility tool of a musician. Matt is typically a vocalist/guitarist but also performs with a variety of other instruments like drums or bass. He performs in a multitude of styles like country, rock or blues from almost any musical era. His original group “DoubleSuede” is a mix of almost all of those tricks into what can best described as Outlaw Country/Rockabilly.
Matt is a songwriter. Some of his songs have been featured in neat places like the Paramount TV series “Joe Pickett”.
Matt is also acts as co-host (the one who talks more) on the Music Variety podcast “The Shop Live YYC” where he has interviewed diverse talent such as “Jesse Dayton” (USA), “Hayley Jensen” (AUS), “Paul Pigat” (BC CAN) and “Steve Pineo” (AB CAN) amongst others during 3 seasons. These interview chops have Matt branching out into emcee duties and maybe even a radio gig in the near future.
Always curious and ready to take on any challenge Matt has performed all over the world in places such as Russia, Mexico and even the Cavern Club in Liverpool England.
