Loud in the Pines

BIO/DESCRIPTION
Loud in the Pines is an Edmonton-based indie-folk duo whose music will transport you from the wide open prairies to the forests and cliffs they dream about. Spencer Taubner (vocals, guitar) and Kelin Flanagan (vocals, keys) write songs dedicated to the people and places they love. With a focus on heartfelt storytelling in cinematic settings, and a sound that centres on seamless vocal harmonies and intricate acoustic guitar, Loud in the Pines leaves audiences restored and inspired.
In June 2023, Loud in the Pines released their first EP, bitter bright, recorded in their home studio. Their first full-length record, Every Colour Left (May 2025), was supported by the Edmonton Arts Council and produced by JUNO-winner Ben Plotnick (The Fretless, Oliver the Crow). It explores stories of place, community, and connection in soaring full-band arrangements, and was nominated for a 2026 Canadian Folk Music Award.
