BIO/DESCRIPTION
Lori Reid is a Canadian roots, folk, and acoustic rock singer-songwriter currently based out of Edmonton, Alberta. Known as one of Alberta’s standout “Women of Song”, her raw, rhythmic, and heartfelt music is deeply grounded in the natural elements of her environment.
Reid is widely recognized as a 1/3 founding member of the acclaimed Alberta-based roots band The Fates, spanning over two decades, the trio actively toured Canada, completed two national cross-country tours, and recorded 2 studio albums( Till We Have Faces,Therapy)and one live recording(slam)
As a solo recording artist, Reid’s signature sound channels deep emotional frequencies mixed with traditional folk-blues influences. Her solo works include 2003’s Radio and Temperance Hotel (2012 / 2021), A highly regarded second solo release produced in collaboration with multi-instrumentalist Colin Linden. Featuring contributions from Nashville veterans Bryan Owings, Dave Roe, and Willie Nelson’s harmonica collaborator, Mickey Raphael. It peaked at #5 on the Roots Report and received nationwide airplay.
Currently, Reid continues to record The Elements: A digital collection exploring our human nature and the elements of life, which includes popular recent singles like “Gold” and “Heart Still Beats”
