‘Jairus Sharif is a self-taught multi-instrumentalist, improviser, and producer based in Mohkinstsis/Calgary. His work combines free improvisation with spontaneous composition, sound collage and looping to create a liberation technology that deals with healing, self-understanding, and class structure.

Sharif has generated a stream of unclassifiable recordings that forge connections between hip-hop abstraction, mysticism, and outsider jazz. This music offers a glimpse into an ongoing hermetic journey via contradictory statements that dwell beneath a blustery surface.’
