Gary Wayne Myers

BIO/DESCRIPTION
Guitar-totin’ Gary plays rootsy originals and instrumentals plus a few classic country covers.
His “do-re-mi-fa-SO-LA-POW-ER” isn’t preachy and it has a catchy, ascending major scale. “World’s Largest Teardrop” is a rootsy rocker.
There’s also GW’s fingerstyle instrumentals in the Hawaiian slack key guitar style (kī hōʻalu
or kee-ho AH-loo) that he learned from some of the Who’s Who of Kī hōʻalu. One slack key instrumental, an original, is played with a threaded needle danglin’ over the guitar’s strings,
to honour the guitarist who did it first, Sonny Chillingworth, jangly-but-gentle.
Merchandise-wise, Gary’s thinking “instead of t-shirts, why not hankies for folks to cry into when I do a tearjerker” (he starts to sing…) step right up and you will see, a man tied up in misery, the world’s largest teardrop is fallin’…
