Cheryl Barkhouse


Hailing from Nova Scotia, Cheryl Barkhouse’s profound love for Country music ignited her journey in the music industry. She joined her daughter’s venture, K-Leigh’s Korner (now Starr’s Point Media), delving into video production and photography, garnering recognition and attracting independent artists.

Dedicated to artist support, Cheryl continually expanded her knowledge through courses and conferences. In 2010, she managed artists like Mark Lorenz and consulted with talents such as Cole Malone and Ryan Lindsay. Her business philosophy revolves around innovation, showcased through her monthly house concerts featuring artists like Duane Steele, Jamie Warren, Chad Brownlee, Adam Gregory, and Tenille Townes.

In 2013, Cheryl’s commitment to innovation led to dinner shows by Katavállo Entertainment, featuring established headliners and independent artists. The iconic Somewhere in Alberta Showcase, launched in 2015, spotlights Alberta’s independent artists during the Canadian Country Music Awards.

In 2019, Cheryl signed newcomer Brandon Lorenzo, innovatively staging cul-de-sac performances during the COVID-19 pandemic, catapulting his career.

Her support extended to Indigenous artist Stirling John in 2021, ushering in a new era of Inspirational Country Music. Cheryl finds immense pride and joy in artists’ success and self-discovery.

In 2023, her contributions earned her a Talent Buyer of the Year nomination at the 12th Annual Country Music Alberta Awards, marking a milestone in her illustrious career. Additionally, 2023 brought Cheryl her first international recognition, with a nomination for Personal Artist Management at the 9th Annual Josie Awards held at the iconic Grand Ole Opry in Nashville, TN.
