BIO/DESCRIPTION
A long time fixture in the Edmonton music scene, Cam has played his own style of fiddle music
in clubs and festivals across the prairies and around the world. From the street to the concert hall,
his musical journey has spanned the gamut of styles from traditional fiddling to jazz. He is
currently active in numerous groups in Edmonton including The Gadjo Collective, The Road to
Django, Dirt City Hotclub Hotclub Edmonton ,Backporch Swing, Spiral Flamenco, The Jim
Findlay Trio, and has been a member of the North African and Middle Eastern Ensemble for five
years.

presents the Road to Django at Convocation Hall
Jan 2018 :Balkan Jam – The Gadjo Collective, featuring 12 Edmonton musicians playing classic
Balkan tunes
Cam has an instructional DVD called “Fiddle Improv” which was recorded on Vancouver Island
with Doug Cox. He has two recordings of original music, “Beats Crime“, a collection of music
that has been called “jug jazz” and the “The Cam Neufeld Connection – Live @ Bonnie Doon
Hall“. This recording features musicians he has played with in various combinations and bands.
Cam plays a swirling sonic mix of original music that has been described as ” a grab bag of
tango’s, jigs, waltz’s, swing numbers and blues all performed with verve and immaculate taste”.
Added to this are the flavours and sounds of India, Persia, Turkey and the Balkans from Cams
recent travels. A DVD called “ The Road to Django” was recorded live at the Artery in Febuary
of 2011 and showcases some of Cams new compositions .
From 2010 to 2020 Cam has made many trips tracing the route of the Roma from India through
Turkey , the Balkan’s, France and Spain; studying, composing and performing music inspired by
this journey. Recently in the fall of 2023, Cam travelled to Spain to the Womex festival and to
Andalusia to study flamenco music.

” Mesmerizing, captivating, dreamy, stirring – all words that describe the magic of a Gadjo
Collective performance! Masterful musicians with ragged old souls that will move you, body and
spirit. Gadjo melted our dance floor and our hearts. Would not hesitate to book again!” Jana
