Barry Sparker & The Random Extras is what happens when Nine Inch Nails meets Tenacious D. Fronted by Berklee-trained producer Barry Parker, this Calgary-based project answers a chaotic question: “What if ‘Weird Al’ fronted an industrial stadium rock band?”

​Because of physical and cognitive health limitations, Barry uses custom AI tools as a musical prosthesis to produce, mix, and master massive arrangements that swing from Big Band Jazz to bone-crushing Industrial Metal. To keep the art pure, the band operates under a strict “Random Protocol”—every lyric is 100% human, the AI vocals are trained entirely on Barry’s own voice, and at least 10% of the album features Barry singing completely raw, live, and unassisted. It’s human grit meets machine efficiency.
