Angela is a singer-songwriter based between Treaty 6 Territory & the unceded island of Tiohtià:ke/Mooniyang/Montreal.
Her songs are a reflection on growing up in Northern Alberta, reconnecting with her indigenous filipino roots, and paying homage to the lands, waters & skies that raised her. Through her alternative-folk stylings, she explores the themes of friendship, healing, childhood, intergenerational trauma, and self-actualization. Angela creates musical archives of her parents’ and grandparents’ stories, and of her own travelogues in search of a sense of home & belonging.
Angela completed a Music Diploma in Jazz Performance in 2019 at Macewan University. She has been teaching music lessons for three years while honing her songwriting skills and occasionally performing. She is currently working on a Bachelor’s of Music at Concordia University of Montreal.
