Angela Begin

BIO/DESCRIPTION

Angela Begin is a singer-songwriter, campus radio show host, astrologer, and music educator based between Treaty 6 Territory (Edmonton) and Tiohtià:ke/Mooniyang (Montreal). Her creative practice is informed by the natural world, and the themes of spaciousness, temporality and transformation. Angela’s songs and writings are meditative and self-reflective explorations about childhood, home, mutability, identity, migration, intergenerational baggage, and interrelationality. Through intentionally crafted lines with multiple interpretations, her songwriting emulates the layered, spirallic and multi-perspective nature of memory and storytelling.

Angela graduated with Great Distinction from Concordia University of Montreal in 2024 with a Bachelor of Fine Arts in Music. She also completed a Music Diploma in Jazz Performance in 2019 at Macewan University. Angela is the host of The Spacious Astrology Playlist at Concordia’s campus radio station, CJLO. She is the recipient of an Art Volt mentorship with Julia E. Dyck and a member of the CARBON (Community of Artists Researching the Beinghood of Nature) collective. Her writing has been published in Hungry Zine and CJLO’s 25th Anniversary zine.
