S.A.C. PRO SONGWORKS X ALBERTA MUSIC

We are excited to announce an opportunity for Alberta-based songwriters to participate in the S.A.C Pro Songworks x Alberta Music 2025 Songwriting Camp, taking place at Studio Bell – National Music Centre in Calgary from February 7-9, 2025.

This three-day songwriting camp will bring together 6 artists from across Alberta to collaborate and create demo-ready songs in a professional, creative environment. Participants will work with fellow songwriters and producers to craft 3 new songs for their catalog and gain valuable insights into the songwriting process.

Location:

– Studio Bell – National Music Centre, Calgary, Alberta

Dates of camp:

– February 7-9, 2025 (10 AM – 6 PM daily, schedule subject to change)

Program Overview:

• 6 artists will be selected and grouped into teams to collaborate on creating demo-ready songs.
• Participants will work in a collaborative environment to explore different genres, share ideas, and refine their craft.
• The goal is for each participant to leave the camp with 3 new songs in their catalog.
• The final songs could be featured in promotional materials and showcased in various media.

Eligibility & Requirements:

• Open to ALL genres of music.
• For bands only one member may attend.
• Must be a current Alberta Music and S.A.C. (Songwriters Association of Canada) member.
• Selection will prioritize genre diversity and inclusivity.
• Sessions may be recorded for promotional use.
• Must be available for all sessions from February 7-9, 2025 (10 AM – 6 PM each day, times subject to change).
• Artists from across Alberta are eligible to apply.

Additional Details:

• This is an exciting opportunity to work in a collaborative environment with other talented songwriters, explore different genres, and refine your craft.
• Participants retain all rights to their songs created during the camp, ensuring full creative control and ownership.
• Travel & Accommodation: Selected artists must be able to cover their own travel and accommodation expenses for the event.
• Must be willing to sign a participant agreement for each individual (no co-writing agreements).
• Split Sheets: While no formal co-writing agreements are required, split sheets will be provided in each studio room and participants are strongly encouraged to complete them for each song. However, the completed sheets will not be collected by organizers.
