About Eric Minden

Eric Minden is a musician and live sound technician from Hamilton, Ontario Canada now living in Calgary, Alberta.

Eric has been exposed to great music all his life. From his mother’s piano to his father’s Jazz and Motown records, his childhood was immersed in music. Through his school years he found a passion for drumming. He joined community and school bands in jazz and orchestral styles. He completed a Honours Bachelor of Commerce and minor in Computer Science at McMaster University in Hamilton. However the music world was calling to him.

Through university and after graduation Eric’s musical world and influences expanded. He began dabbling in musical theatre as well forming several Indie Rock outfits, while listening to punk, alternative and metal. His desire to embrace song writing led him to learn guitar. As a multi-instrumentalist he played in several rock, funk, acoustic, punk, musical theatre and jazz groups around Hamilton. He also began working local music venues as a sound tech, combining his passions for music and technology.

After moving to Vancouver briefly, Eric found new roots in Calgary in 2015. He worked at AXE Music and works as a freelance sound tech for many clubs, festivals and production companies. He is currently the owner of Minden Productions in Calgary.  Musically plays in indie rock outfit Peach Panic. He freelances as well with other Calgary musicians.

Eric has been fortunate to work and play with many fantastic musicians over the years, in a variety of capacities and roles. This has provided Eric with a great grounding as a musician and tech.
