TOGETHER YEG CONCERT SERIES LAUNCHES OCT 25
Ten show series highlights the best of Edmonton music and venues

(Edmonton) – The 2023 Edmonton JUNOs Host Committee is proud to announce the launch of the Together YEG Concert series taking place between October 2023 and March 2024. This legacy project is a ten show series launching with an eclectic line-up at downtown live venue SOHO featuring indie-pop songwriter St.Arnaud, the gospel tinged sounds of AV & The Inner City, jazz trombonist Audrey Ochoa and local Edmonton stalwart Lyle Bell performing solo. This kick-off show demonstrates the committee’s commitment to eclectic programming, and supports not only Edmonton’s deep pool of talented musicians, but five full-time live music venues in the city.

“Music is the universal language and we strive for more voices, more stories, more opportunities for new artists to be heard and to share their musical histories,” said JUNO 2023 Edmonton Host Committee Co-Chair, Aimée Hill. “We look forward to seeing our vision come to life through producer Brent Oliver’s programming and seeing our live music scene thrive because of these new opportunities and artist connections. We hope Edmontonians will come out to support such a worthwhile endeavour.”

In addition to the kick-off event on Oct 25, other 2023 events include Thursday, November 16, 2023 at The Starlite Room with The Royal Foundry, Juno winner Celeigh Cardinal, Eric Kane and Tea G as well as Thursday, December 7, 2023 at The Buckingham with Mallory Chipman, Electric Audrey 2, Sammy Volkov and The Nico Tobias Band. More line-ups and venues will be announced in the coming months including performances by Cristian de la Luna, Moraine, ASKO, Manny V y su Esquina Latina, Nuela Charles, cikwes, Good Information, Verttigo and more. Series producer Brent Oliver of BOP MGMT & Consulting remarks “I’m thrilled to be able to program and support Edmonton’s music scene through the Together YEG series and can’t wait to announce more events and artists for 2024. Edmonton’s rich and diverse history of live music and artistic creativity will be on full display across venues in town.”

All events are on sale @ linktr.ee/togetheryeg for $15 in advance, or $20 day of event. The best part of the series is that all ticket revenue is being donated to worthy charities – iHuman, Yona-Sistema & MusiCounts.

It’s exciting to be able to support these charities,” said JUNO 2023 Edmonton Host Committee Co-Chair, Renée Williams. “iHuman, Yona-Sistema & MusiCounts do such important work within the Edmonton community to foster art and music education; an important part of our legacy is to ensure that these organizations have the resources required to continue to grow their programs.”

Tickets go on sale this Friday, September 29, 2023 at 10am.

Together YEG takes place on Treaty 6 territory, the traditional territories of the nehiyaw, Dene, Stoney Nakoda, Nakota Sioux, and Annishnabe. We would also like to acknowledge this land is home to Metis and Inuit peoples. The volunteers, producers, patrons, and artists humbly admit that we are learning what it means to be on Treaty territory and unceded land. We recognize the land as an act of reconciliation and gratitude to those whose territory we reside on or are visiting. We know there is still important work that needs to be done to honor the treaties and. Indigenous histories, languages, and cultures influence our music community, and we are grateful to be guests on this land.
