A Day as Wolves is the Blues Rock brainchild of Andrew and Kyle Eskesen. What started as a writing project to pass time in the seemingly dull snow wrenched Calgary winters eventually evolved to something much greater. After just a few months the guys had enough material to put something serious together. With the additions of Cameron Dawes on Guitar and new comer Dustin Herits on drums, it allowed the band to explore more genres such as Psychedelic, Southern Rock, Soul and folk just to name a few. This grand mixture of musical styles leads to their token fuzzed out, twangy sound.
MAY 8 - Cherry Cola's Rock N' Rolla Cabaret - Set Time: 12:00AM

Go For The Eyes founder Jeff Turner spent several years growing his band from the ground up in Calgary, Alberta before colliding with his musical soulmate, Elise Roller. After watching her mesmerize audiences as a solo artist, Turner would add Roller to the band in late 2009, setting the stage for a thrilling musical adventure to come.
By 2014, the band had added Scott Perrin and Jacob Pasterfield, a rhythm section that would powerfully anchor Turner and Roller’s dynamic songs. Sounding as though their voices were harvested from the same bloodline, the band’s seductive duo bottle songs containing Fleetwood Mac’s bluesy courtship shaken up with the hook-laden sensibilities of Jack White. The band’s work ethic and true passion for rock n’ soul has them emerging as one of Alberta’s most notable live acts, and they are well on their way to keeping heads bobbing and toes moving across the nation.
MAY 7 - Ranch Relaxo (300 College St.) - Set Time: 12:00AM

MAY 8 - Magpie Room - Set Time: 10:00pm
Rich, rasp-filled, and sensually soulful, it’s hard to believe that Canadian emerging pop artist - Lexi Strate - has uncovered such a mature and seasoned voice at the age of 21. Then again, one might expect it from a teenager who locked herself in her bedroom those influential years to learn Youtube covers. A small town girl with big dreams, Lexi simply hasn’t had any time to waste.
Now, as she closes in on a momentous tipping point, the Alberta-born songstress is ready to show off her evolution – and with thousands of subscribers cheering her on.
Mitch Belot entertains with his swampy story telling style and modern rock flare. He hooks audiences with his powerful, smoky voice, and gets them on their feet by incorporating fast tempos and heavy grooves. While he is first and foremost a humble student of the blues, Mitch adds a taste of rock to the naturally ear pleasing sound that permeates his repertoire.
Hearing Mitch’s soulful voice and classic blues riffs, you’d be forgiven for thinking that he stepped right out of 1930’s Mississippi. In fact he was born in Calgary in 1993 and didn’t start playing guitar until the age of fifteen. He owes his musical beginnings to his grandfather - a very talented pianist who could play everything from Mozart to Heartbreak Hotel after only hearing it once.
If you’ve been waiting for a new unapologetic testosterone fueled rock and roll band, One Day Late is the band for you. They are a larger than life collective¬, in both the physical and performing aspect; that plays hard, tight and loud riff driven rock and roll every time they take the stage.
Draped in black, this high energy party rock band exudes an attitude and sound that can kick your ass but will pick you back up too. There is a passion for metal’s roots that can be heard billowing through their hooks and melodies, a sound that honours the ancestors of rock by keeping things pure. Bringing people back to that place where they forget about the real world and lose themselves in the music and beer.
Although PORT JUVEE embody a style equally indebted to the garage rockers of California and New York City, the Canadian prairies is where they decide to call home. The Calgary 5-piece run a sound that seamlessly clips summer carelessness together with city cynicism.
Set for release on October 21, the REVENGE EP is full of bright guitar leads, baritone vocals, and a pounding rhythm section. Produced by Justin Gerrish (Vampire Weekend, The Strokes, Weezer) the collaboration between the two musical forces came together with a bit of good luck and great timing. "It was in the recording stages of Revenge when we got a an email out of the blue from Justin,” says band member Brett Sandford. “He had heard our demo at house party in NYC the night before and thought we were really onto something with the sound and was looking for a way to get involved. His timing was perfect with REVENGE coming together, so we started really diving into the songs to find them their own identities.”

Raygun Cowboys are a psychobilly punk rock n roll band hailing from the very best dive bars and pool rooms of Edmonton. These 50’s influenced hooligans play insanely high-energy badass rockabilly with elements of punk and rock n roll that instantly gets people on the dance floor from the first to last song.
Formed in 2000, the boys started playing local shows and quickly became the band of choice to support touring acts in western Canada. In 2005 the Cowboys released their first recordings on the Zombie Night in Canada 2 compilation and released their debut Underworld Boogie in 2006. The band hit the road shortly after and toured coast to coast several times bringing their suped-up psycho juke joint jive to a legion of fans across the country. In 2007 they added a killer horn section to their traditional 3 piece rockabilly line up. Two full-length albums followed along with constant touring in every corning of the country including appearances at some of the best festivals in Canada like North Country Fair, Folk on the Rocks, Beaumont Blues Fest, Hotrod Hootenanny and the Salmon Arm Blues and Roots festival. In 2010-11 the Rayguns toured Europe in and backed up rockabilly legend Wanda Jackson at the Edmonton folk festival and began recording their third full length album in the fall.
Scenic Route to Alaska is proving that less is more. The band's distinct, heartfelt, and catchy indie-folk-rock is as tight as their unshakeable friendship. Having grown up together, Shea Connor (drummer), and Murray Wood (bassist), intuitively know what Trevor Mann (guitarist and vocals) is writing about. After forming in the summer of 2010, Trevor and Shea travelled to Montreal to meet Murray in order to record a 3 song demo at the McGill University. After countless bar shows, showcases, and a steadily growing fan-base, Scenic Route to Alaska left there comfort zone and successfully toured through Alberta and the interior of British Columbia. Shortly after playing Edmonton's own S.O.S. Festival, the band was invited to perform at the Edmonton and Canmore Folk Music Festivals. They deemed it necessary to have more material recorded and decided to add 3 songs to their original EP. After two days in Norwood Studios, the band had a completed 6 song disc, engineered and produced by James Murdoch (James Murdoch Band) and Chris Wynters (Captain Tractor). After demonstrating very successful CD sales at both Folk Festivals, Scenic Route to Alaska just released their first full length album, All These Years, in June of 2012.

In 1822 General William Ashley sent out the following ad: "To Enterprising Young Men: The Subscriber wishes to engage One Hundred men to ascend the River Missouri to its source to be employed for one, two, or three years."
Almost 200 years later, five young men with the same pioneering values started making music together. Beginning as an acoustic folk act in 2012, The Ashley Hundred quickly discovered that was not the style of music that they were meant for. The addition of a Keyboard and Electric Guitar to their collection of traditional folk instruments, gave them a thick layer of ambience that added necessary depth to their sound. After placing 3rd in Calgary Folk Fest’s Songwriting competition in 2013, The Ashley Hundred became inspired to master their craft and make music they were truly proud of. Taking huge steps forward in a matter of months, the line-up of Brett Cassidy (Banjo, Lap Steel), Chad Dalley (Drums), Andrew Franks (Guitar, Vocals), Jordan Moe (Bass) and Carson Stewart (Guitar, Keys, Vocals) were ready to share their creations with the community and beyond.

The Fight is the sound of abandoning Canadian suburbia, trying to find yourself in a guitar in venues across the states. It’s struggling to discover what place anyone has in the new age of music. It’s both simple and hard; it’s withdrawn and intimate. There’s frustration and struggle in the drums and distortion, a heartfelt distance in the vocals, wrapped in electric regret. We don’t fight to win. We fight to feel.
MAY 5 - Rancho Relaxo - Set Time: 9:00PM
