The Annual General Meeting of the Alberta Music Industry Association wrapped up last night, September 16/2013, and we are pleased to publish the results of that meeting.
- The only matter of member business was the election of Board of Directors. There were 5 positions available, 4 of which were Directors running for re-election. Re-elected to the Board were:
- Aimee Hill (780)
- Candace Elder (403)
- Nik Kozub (780)
- Jinting Zhao (780)
New elected to the Board is Brent Oliver (780). Congratulations and welcome to Brent.
We also say goodbye to Kodi Hutchinson (403), who has completed 3 full terms with the Board and will be taking a mandatory break. Thank you for all your work over the past 6 years, an incredible contribution to the health of this association.
- Our Executive Director gave a fantastic report on the state of the association, drawing particular attention to the initiation of several new programs, such as an International Development program for showcasing Alberta artists abroad, and a Community program being developed to better engage the various geographic and genre-specific communities we serve.
- There was a good and positive social environment, despite incredible technical difficulties. We have a great membership and enjoyed the evening together - made better by live DJs in both Edmonton and Calgary, and the incredible sponsorship of the bar by our local brewers, Yellowhead Brewing Company and Village Brewers.
Thank you everyone. See you next year!< Previous Post Next Post >
